- Update - The future of PECE
Following an open invitation to PECE members to take on the work of the PECE secretariat, a partnership of LEAD international, Groundwork UK and Creative Concern have been invited by the Steering Group to develop a business plan for further consultation. The Steering group is grateful to all the organisations that submitted expressions of interest and for the interest and support of other PECE members who have offered practical support for the new secretariat. A business plan will be published on the PECE website in due course and all PECE members are invited to comment. (11.09.07)
- The Environment for Europe Belgrade Ministerial Conference 10 -12 October, Belgrade
The “Environment for Europe” process is a unique partnership of Governments from across the Pan-European and North American region, intergovernmental organizations, regional environment centres, business and civil society. Since 1991, it has been the main multilateral vehicle for developing common strategies and standards for environmental improvements across the Pan-European region, including the EECCA region.
The Belgrade Conference will be the next major Ministerial conference in the "Environment for Europe process" and assess the progress of reform in the region and discuss future cooperation. The issue of partnerships is a significant part of the agenda and PECE will be represented at the event. For more information about participating in the Belgrade conference, please contact the PECE secretariat. (11.09.07)
