(Published 30 January 2007) Central Eurasia Leadership Academy (CELA)Summer Workshop, Istanbul, 15th –24th July 2007The deadline for applications is Monday April 9, 2007) The Central Eurasia Leadership Academy is pleased to invite applications for its 2007 Leadership Workshop. The development of future leaders with character, initiative, and strategic vision is one of the keys to enhancing cooperation, security, and prosperity in the Central Eurasia region. To this end, CELA will invite 45 high-potential, mid-career professionals from Central Eurasia to a ten-day leadership workshop in Istanbul that will be intensive, challenging, and fun. Applicants must be between the ages of 28 and 42. They must be citizens of one of the following countries: Afghanistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan. The professional sectors targeted in 2007 are government, business, NGOs/ civil society and media. Candidates working in the spheres of business and government are particularly encouraged to apply. Women also are strongly encouraged to apply. The information about the number of available scholarships for the international students can be found at the KSE website (www.kse.org.ua/scholarships ) or in the EERC Office. The international students will be required to submit an application for financial support by July 10, 2007, 15:00. All scholarship recipients will be required to sign a scholarship agreement with KSE. The EERC M.A. program provides its students with a rigorous two-year academic curriculum; courses are taught in English primarily by faculty visiting from universities in Europe and North America. The level of studies is fully comparable to that found in leading Western universities. The program provides a well-designed combination of applied and theoretical courses in all major areas of economics. The EERC program is by far Ukraine’s largest source of modern well-trained economists. It is one of just four such programs serving the region, along with the Center for Economic Research and Graduate Education (CERGE) in Prague, the Central European University (CEU) in Budapest, and the New Economic School (NES) in Moscow.
