Sustainable Production & Consumption (SCP) in the EECCA Region |
Summary – Workshops are scheduled in Kyiv, Ukraine and Tbilisi, Georgia, 17-19 April 2007, to evaluate national and sub-regional progress in Eastern Europe and South Caucasus on SCP policy development following Kiev-2003 EfE decisions; support the European Environment Bureau EcoForum at the Belgrade 2007 Environment Ministers Conference and establish an NGO forum to track UN Commission on Sustainable Development SCP cross-cutting issues to 2010 and beyond, thus bringing the EECCA countries into the international SCP framework. In addition, demonstrating the sustainability and cost-effectiveness of video-conferencing. |

| Purpose |
The purpose of the workshops is the integration of EECCA (and GUAM) into the Marrakech Process (Preparations for UN CSD 2010/2111) and to lobby for EECCA priorities to be integrated within CSD-15 major policy decisions, as well as to support the EcoForum position at Belgrade 2007. And to demonstrate the sustainability and cost-effectiveness of video-conferencing.
